Introduction Practice Entry

Hello everyone! my name is Yesenia Quintero. I am 22 years old. I've lived in Glendale my whole life. Both my parents are from Mexico, so I also speak Spanish. I have two sisters and I am the middle child. I am the tallest of my two sisters and I am also taller than both my parents. I have two dogs. One is a Pomeranian and his name is Cottonball. The other one is a half Pomeranian and half Chihuahua, her name is Gigi. They are my babies. I'm obsessed with my dogs. I  my family.

My goals for school are to get my Master's in Special and Elementary Education. I just completed my Associate's in Elementary Education. I plan on starting the NAU Teacher Education program part of the Glendale extended campus in the Fall of 2014. In order to get into the program, one of the requirements are that I have a 3.0 GPA for English. I just need to raise my English GPA.

  1. Yesenia, Master's Degree in Special education is awesome! For the last two years, I had the honor of working for two high schools in our state. I cannot release the name of the schools due to confidential reason. Before I took over as Dropout Prevention Specialist, one of the schools I worked for has been a failure to our SPED Students. The lack of leadership from the school administrators has put our SPED students in jeopardy. With the help of parents and few other teachers, my colleagues and I was able to work hard to ensure that each and every child have access to higher education despite their social and economic statue. . When you talk about having a Master's Degree in Special Education, it inspires me because we have people like you who are eager to make a difference in our classroom. Remember becoming a teacher is something you love doing. Not simply because of the money. As matter of fact, they never get pay that much. I also hope you work extraordinary to bring up your GPA because it is very important since you intend to get into teaching. I have no doubt in mind that you will succeed in whatever profession you choose to pursue. Keep up the good work and I wish you much success in your future endeavors!
